Photo Session Locations
While we are always open to locations that mean something to you, here are a few of our tried and true favorites to help you visualize what would work best for your session.
Provo park
There’s a sweet little park in Provo that’s perfect for a laid-back family session. It’s got everything you need—lush grass, a good mix of evergreens for depth, and easy access, so you don’t have to hike to get that pretty, nature-filled background. The real magic happens in the evening when the light creates a warm, golden glow that makes every photo feel cozy and full of life. It’s simple, beautiful, and so easy to work with.

Pierpont Art District, SLC
Industrial meets artsy in the Pierpont art district. Exposed brick, grungy alleys, and bold murals give this area so much character. It’s edgy, creative, and full of personality. Great for families who want something totally unique and full of texture.

aspen Grove, Provo Canyon
Aspen Grove in Provo Canyon is a dream, especially in the fall when the aspens turn golden and the whole area just glows. But even in summer or early spring, the white bark of the aspens creates such a unique, clean look that photographs beautifully. The grove has a gentle, open feel that works great for families with young kids—it’s easy to move around and explore while still getting stunning backdrops in every direction. It’s one of those spots where the landscape feels light and airy, perfect for a soft, natural look.

Downtown Salt Lake City, UT
Downtown Salt Lake City offers an urban vibe that’s full of texture and personality. From the sleek lines of modern buildings to the charm of historic architecture and colorful murals, there’s a ton of visual interest to work with. The mix of clean concrete, pops of color, and cool lighting angles—especially at golden hour—makes this spot perfect if you're going for something a little more edgy or contemporary. It’s a great choice for families who want something outside the traditional nature setting while still keeping it stylish and fun.

Johnson Pines, Big Cottonwood Canyon
Johnson Pines in Big Cottonwood Canyon is a hidden gem for anyone who loves that true mountain-forest feel. The towering pine trees create a cozy, shaded atmosphere that feels peaceful and secluded—ideal for those quiet, connected family moments. The forest floor has this beautiful texture with pine needles and wild grasses, and the light filtering through the trees in the late afternoon is just magical. It’s the kind of place where every photo feels like a little escape into the woods.

Soda row, Daybreak
Soda Row in Daybreak is such a fun and colorful spot for family photos. With its modern, small-town vibe, bold storefronts, and charming walkways, there’s so much variety packed into one easy location. The pops of color from murals and shop exteriors add energy to your photos, while the open plaza and nearby lake paths bring in a softer, more natural feel if you want to mix it up. It’s the perfect blend of urban charm and community warmth—super walkable, full of personality, and great for relaxed, lifestyle-style family sessions.

Tibble Fork
Tibble Fork Reservoir, tucked up in American Fork Canyon, is a beautiful and versatile spot for any photo session. The tall evergreens surrounding the area create a peaceful, natural setting that looks stunning in every season. The reservoir itself brings a whole other level of beauty—its calm, glassy surface reflects the sky and trees, adding depth and softness to every shot. Whether you're hoping for that cozy forest backdrop or wide mountain views, Tibble Fork really delivers. It’s an ideal place to capture genuine family moments.

Exclusive Private Property, Provo Canyon
This private property has been a go to for me for years! With a combination of evergreens, aspen trees, a pond feature, an old barn, and lots of amazing natural texture this is a prime location for anyone looking for an outdoor mountain look. Catch the golden leaves of autumn, crisp snows of winter, tender new growth of spring, or the lush greenery of summer that showcases the beauty of the great outdoors, and creates a stunning backdrop for your photos.

Folsom Lake, CA
Folsom Lake is a stunning spot for family photos, especially if you’re drawn to wide open skies, reflective water, and a mix of rocky shoreline and soft golden grass. The lake itself brings a calm, expansive feel, while the surrounding hills and natural textures add depth and warmth. Sunrise and sunset sessions here are especially beautiful—the light just wraps around everything and gives your photos a soft, glowy look. It’s one of those places where you can keep things simple and still end up with something truly breathtaking.
